The song which was first sung in Tokyo DOME and made all fans turned into surprises, “COLORS ~ Melody & Harmony ~”

When they’re asked, “What was the feeling when you wrote the lyrics?” while grabbing Jejung’s shoulders, Yuchun said “A feeling like this (laughs)” showing their dazzling friendship!(*lol...you mean you wrote the song while holding and cuddling eachother XD..)

Jejung: In Tokyo DOME, with Yuchun singing this song while were looking at each other, truly a hard experience. The feeling was different like when we’re performing with complete members, when there are only the two of us, there’s no place to hide (laughs).

Yuchun: In the middle of the song, there was part when all audiences were singing along with us “lalala~”, this part was Jejung’s idea. Actually I was pretty worried before, since this is a new song, will everyone be able to sing it together so quickly?

- But the truth is, in Tokyo DOME you guys could successfully sing together (with all the fans)

Jejung: The purpose became true! Since the very beginning, we already decided that we’d compose a melody in which everyone could sing it easily.

- For next, what do you guys want to do?

Yuchun: I want to go to Hawaii
Jejung: when we both of us hang out together, the one who will decide the time and the place (to go to) is always Yuchun. Yuchun will never go to a place that he doesn’t like.
Yuchun: Ah….. that’s true (laughs). I will even check the place from the internet first.

- In the song’s lyrics, there’s a line about the mind that is filled with colors. Have you ever seen a colorful dream?

Yuchun: Never have one. But sometimes I really want to have one (laughs). Most of my dreams are sad ones, and eventually I’d cry in my dream, even when I already wake up, I still cry.
Jejung: In 1 year, 365 days, I always see colors. I ever dreamed about a very lovely girl who really suits my type. But, when I stretched my hand to reach her, she slowly disappeared…

- With Yuchun as your room mate, are you able to go back to that love scene (when Jejung found the lovely girl) again?(*...hm...I thought they are no roomates anymore..lol...since Chu is staying with u-know....interesting...)

Jejung: Not at all! It was really in a perfect timing (of almost touching the girl), but then I heard the sound “waa…” from Yuchun who’s crying, I was suddenly awaken!! I tried to continue my sleep, trying hard to go back into my previous dream.
Yuchun: Jejung has been through a lot of wrong illusions~ I do hope he can further increase the level of his dream to be something that is more flexible and predictable. So that he may be able to predict what is the next question that is going to be asked (laughs)

- If you have to pick one color, what color that is recently most reflecting both of you?

Jejung: Since in recent days Yuchun has become an early riser human, so he’s a white. As for me, I’m very dark (laughs).
Yuchun: Jejung is a blue black. There’s a lonely… yet cute feeling?(* please Yoochun no mo running around the bush...jsut say it...say that JJ is cute XD)
Jejung: Nowadays I have become a black image of the ocean. The outer and inside appearance of ocean is not the same right? But sometimes Yuchun is also like that.

- You both are O-blood type, you must have a lot of similarities. However, is there anything your counterpart has that makes you envy about?

Jejung: skinny chest, very broad shoulders, when wearing T-shirt he looks so good. For myself, I have a thick chest….(*XD...JJ I so agree with you...XD...that's such a hot part of yoochun...but there is also what you said in another interview...Yochun's thick lower lip...remember ;))
Yuchun: I’m not like that~
Jejung: So what are you?
Yuchun: (laughs) Ever since I was born, I already have asthma, so I envy Jejung who is so healthy.
Jejung: But if you’re too energetic when you’re young, the energy will disappear soon, right?
Yuchun: What the heck that will disappear? (laughs)
Jejung: It’s the same case like battery… don’t you think?

- But there’s always charger (to re-charge) right?

Yuchun: But there’s also a kind of battery that can’t be recharged. Once it loses its power, it will be trashed away (cold laugh)
Jejung: ……………a. (lol)(*lol...these too could promote their own pholosophy)

- They’re so matched even when they’re pouring cold jokes to each other. Please looking forward to their harmony!

The secret of how one can easily memorize the song is simple yet beautiful harmony.

Pinky: Please tell us about the new songs that you both composed and arranged together!

YC: At live in Tokyo Dome, every member of TVXQ had each prepared their own SOLO performances. The other three members’s song were already decided early on, while we had not decided yet. We were both worried, “what song that will be good to be sung~” and then the process came naturally, “Let’s just do it together.”

We already have a song that was arranged by both of us together before, but for a long time never been used. Therefore we decided to carry it on.

JJ: That’s the case. There was 40 – 50,000 people coming at the Dome at that moment and my heart said let’s create a melody which everyone can sing along together! With that, we tried to create this simple but beautiful song. When the melody was fixed, then it’s fixed, that simple. We don’t have intention to make it difficult. The melody of this piece was created at once.
YC: I wanted to create a melody that is suitable for Japanese. The arrangement composition was running smoothly.
JJ: Arrangement was done by me and melody was by Yuchun.
YC: A little more fresh melody was created!
JJ: Yes! ! as I told you, when we created the melody, surprisingly we really enjoyed it a lot. However in the recording time, my voice was not in its good state at the moment, so I had to repeat the recording for 3 times. It was such an effort.

P: In the new song, you both really sound impressive. What do you think a “beautiful harmony” is?

YC: You there, please answer this! (immediately)
JJ: (laughs). Well … beautiful harmony is something “that comes straight from the heart” I think that it is. Yuchun, please say something!
YC: … but being compared to the harmony that two of us created, I think the harmony of us as five members is more difficult. Gathering five individual voices of each member into 1 single voice is really a hard work.

P: Let me ask a little more bit, do you have a recipe to make a perfect harmony when we’re singing this song in karaoke?

JJ: Tohoshinki’s song is also very easy for women to sing. So I don’t think it will be that hard for male to sing too? This song starts from the main voice first singing, then the second voice comes down following (starts to sing)
YC: We have to feel the point by ourselves.
JJ: (singing and continue to explain) oh it is pretty tough to explain! !
YC: When we just started, it also felt difficult to become a (harmony of) Tohoshinki. Members began their parts by also looking at other members’ parts. To be where we are now, we don’t know already how many failures we’ve been going through. Anyhow, so please everyone practicing the main melody first to the point that other harmonizing melody will come out in the end. We are also out of such practice.
JJ: Harmony, is when the voices of five individuals have been covered by one person’s voice.
YC: Listen to CD for practicing! If the song is too difficult, then just leave it (laughs)
JJ: The following part is ~ … … (Jejung continues singing while explaining more)

P: Successful tours, Dome, and been continuing to live at a-nation, however, your dance and song performances is really very wonderful on stage!!

JJ: Tohoshinki really sweat a lot more than any other artists, but I think that’s the good point of us.
YC: If the audience is very hype, then we will do whatever we can no matter what.
JJ: But we didn’t always control our own strength, we might have this thought, “we have save our physical for the next stage, we have to control our own strength,” but in the end we always over-do our power. Therefore, at the final stage, we always become such a mess (laughs).
YC: Everytime, we look like we can die together (laughs).

P: You two seem to be mature than your actual age, it is very attractive.

JJ: Hah! ? Whom are you talking about here? ? Junsu? ? Do you mean I have an old face?
YC: shouldn’t it be Changmin (laughs)! ?
JJ: Are you talking about appearance? or image?

P: Being polite and have sense of cleanliness, it means you’re cool.

JJ: Oh yes. In fact, I don’t have an old face, right? (T/N: I have to hold myself not to add *fiuh!* after “oh yes” here, LOL)

P: So please tell us your most recent habits?

YC: I wake up early these days~ ♪
JJ: One day, out of chance, he slept really early because he was so tired. Then he woke up early. Since that event, he thought it was a good idea, and Yoochun’s been in that constant pattern.
YC: I get up at 7 a.m. And then go to do a half-bath and showering while listening to music. Although at 8 p.m I already had begun drowsy, but I always try to hold it back until 10 – 11 p.m before I go to sleep. During these times, it’s heaven~ And I love beach sandals so much! ♥ My stylist got me some new ones, I’m really loving the style!(*somehow weirdly something similar happened to me too...I'm talking about my sleeping )
JJ: If your feet becomes cold, your entire body will become cold. Yoochun, likes being cold in winter as well… there’s something wrong with you!! If you keep wearing beach sandals, your feet are going to get dirty!(* lol...probably because JJ is so hot he's not feeling the cold weather...yes JJ probably keeps him warm XD)
YC: Because I don’t like to wear socks. Last year, until November, I kept up with beach sandals, so this year, I will try my best again! I have around 20-30 pairs, and if I buy one, I will definitely wear it for 1 to 2 years.

JJ: What you have are already too many! Oh by the way, some time ago we went to go karaoke, right?
YC: Yeah we went, both of us. Jejung did singing while I did drinking.
JJ: It’s not like that, we did sing together~!
YC: Oh, yes! ! We sang “Saiai” and “Rainy Blue”.
JJ: It’s our stress relief! All the stress is gone!
YC: It’s different from when we are singing for work. The mood is different.
JJ: Often our friends nag us and say, ‘Sing a tohoshinki song~’…
YC: But we didn’t sing (laughs)

P: Do you dance at the karaoke?

JJ: we don’t dance we don’t dance (shy) It’s the same like normal person, we’re singing while standing or sitting.

P: Well, finally we’d like to ask you to convey last message to all Pinky readers!

JJ: Please listen to lots of our songs~ Please love us. If you see people working hard, you like them, right? Tohoshinki is the best looking when we are dancing and singing!
YC: You are good-looking even when you cry, Jaejoong. (laughs) A message from me… everyone, wake up early and take a bath!(* lol....yes yes Chun...hm...that means you've seen JJ crying a few times...so it means he shows his weak side to you...or maybe it was a lovers quarell *gets briked*)

Q. In Jejung’s eyes, what colour represents Yuchun?
JJ: It’s white. Because he is a very pure soul, and also because the colour white has the possibility of becoming any other colour. Yuchun is the kind of person that has the ability to accept, as well as change.

Q. In Yuchun’s eyes, what colour represents Jejung?
YC: Black. Jejung loves black the most, and he’s really suited for black. Compared to any other colour, its stronger. This kind of Jejung has a powerful feeling, and he also loves the dark night, so he’s really too suitable for black.

Q. In the lyrics, there’s this line “If you can’t sleep at night”. If you have insomnia, what will you do to pass time?
JJ: Although I’m the kind that sleeps really late, but I fall asleep very easily. Occasionally, if I find that I can’t sleep, I’ll just keep listening to music until i fall asleep.
YC: Usually, after I lie down, I need to spend some time trying to fall asleep, and to ensure that I get a good sleep, I need a good pillow, and I have the wear the eye mask! Also, to ensure that I don’t get hungry in the middle of the night, which might cause me to be unable to sleep, I eat a lot at night.

Q. While you’re carrying out your activities as a duo, is there anything that you discovered about the other person for the first time?
JJ: While the 5 of us are carrying out activities as Tohoshinki, Yuchun is often the one who slows us down! However, when we’re carrying out activities as a duet, I was surprised to discover: Yuchun is actually so serious?
YC: While carrying out the activities as a duet, I realised that Jejung is indeed the older brother. He constantly guides me in different aspects, tells me to do this or do that, and always enthusiastically gives his opinions. It allowed me to see Jejung as a leader.

Q. The lyrics also had the phrase “thank you”. So, what is the phrase/word that you use the most? What kind of Japanese phrase/word have you liked recently?
JJ: I think the phrase I use frequently is “thank you”, I really like it! Up until today, we’ve always been receiving everyone’s support, so this feeling of gratitude is precious to me. Also, the Japanese word I liked recently is “隠れ家” (T/N: Kakurega – hiding place/refuge”). Since it’s a secret place, its a place where I can be at ease. How do I say this, it feels cool.
YC: I’ve been saying “I’ll do my best” a lot. It’s the kind where you shout it out in order to fulfill different goals and wishes. Also, its a phrase that gives me courage. Recently, the Japanese word that I remember, that also became my current favourite, is “絆” (T/N: Kizuna – bonds/fetters). It sounds good when you say it, and it also gives you a heartwarming feeling.
