[NEWS] 100312 Jaejoong to grace cover of Japanese Magazine

The power of TVXQ's fans were able to crash servers again.

Hero Jaejoong to grace cover of Japanese magazine

Hero Jaejoong of Korean idol group TVXQ has been selected to grace the cover of Japanese weekly magazine "Anan", according to various media reports.

After news of the pop idol's April cover feature spread through Korea's Internet portals Thursday, the websites of online bookstores which specialize in selling Japanese magazines, including IchigoIchie and Nepic, reportedly crashed several times due to an explosive number of visitors

"Anan", famous for publishing revealing photographs of male stars, has featured many top Japanese celebrities over the years including singer and actor Takuya Kimura of SMAP, but Hero Jaejoong is the first Hallyu star to be photographed for the cover.

Hero Jaejoong debuted in 2004 in the five-member boy band TVXQ, one of the most successful K-pop acts in Asia. They reportedly have the largest fanbase in the world and have enjoyed great success in the Japanese music industry in particular.

The band became the first foreign artist to top the Oricon singles charts six times with their 27th single "Share the World/We are!" released last year.

He is scheduled to appear in a Japanese TV series titled "Sunao ni narenakute", which is written by popular television writer Kitagawa Eriko and premieres in April on Fuji TV.

Tue, March 9, 2010 (3:14am EST)

TVXQ member Jejung (24) has been cast in his first Japanese drama. He will appear in Fuji TV's "Sunao ni Narenakute," which stars Eita (27) and Juri Ueno (23) in a story of five friends who meet through the social networking service Twitter.

The series was first unveiled last month, with four of the five key characters revealed. Each character struggles with his or her own problems, but their friendship helps them overcome those issues. In Jejung's case, he plays a doctor who moves with his sister from Korea to Japan, where he begins working for a medical equipment manufacturer. However, he is burdened with a lot of pressure, as he finds himself unable to produce strong results for the company.

"Sunao ni Narenakute" premieres in April.
