On another day, Linda calls up everyone, and celebrates with the Sunanare group on Nakaji’s success with his new column. Because of studying for the exam, Haru leaves the shop first. Then Doctor tells a lie to Nakaji, Linda and Peach who were left at the shop, saying that he has a “adult relationship” with Haru…

[TRANS] 100522 More Than 100 Fans Waited While Micky Yoochun Practiced His First Reading of The “SungKyunKwan Scandal” Script

DBSK’s Micky Yoochun received an act of encouragement from his fans.

Chosen as the lead of KBS2 TV Station’s latest television drama “SungKyunKwan Scandal”, Micky Yoochun begin his first reading of the script on the afternoon of 16th May at Da Nang Dong of Gangnam-gu, Seoul. On that day, after having got hold of Micky Yoochun’s schedule for the day, more than 100 fans waited outside the office just for a glimpse of him.

Micky Yoochun, Song Joong Gi, Cho Min Gi, along with the other actors, continued practicing their scripts under an enjoyable atmostphere.

One of the production crew of “SungKyunKwan Scandal” said on the 20th of May, “One can really see Micky Yoochun’s popularity from the gathering of the fans. Even though he’s a top star, his humble attitude left a very deep impression”, “even though this is the first time Micky Yoochun is challenging acting, he did very well in both the pronunciation and in the understanding of the script, [thus the drama] is definitely something worth looking forward to.”

The same crew later added on, saying, “The lead actress and supporting roles have not been finalized yet. [We are] working hard on choosing the right actresses as soon as possible so that we can begin filming from next week onwards.”

'SungKyunKwan Scandal', starring Micky Yoochun and Song Joong Gi, is expected to become another Hallyu drama.

A representative of 'SungKyunKwan Scandal' stated, "We haven't even started filming yet but we are getting requests for pre-sales overseas." Many see this as the 'Micky Yoochun effect' as TVXQ is a solid star not only in Japan, but all across Asia.

This representative also stated, "The flood of interest makes us happy but also puts a lot of pressure on us," and "We will work hard to make this a great production."

'SungKyunKwan Scandal' is a youthful traditional drama that is loosely based off the bestseller 'The Lives of SungKyunKwan Confucian Scholars". Micky Yoochun and Song Joong Gi have currently been cast as members of the Joseon Dynasty Quartet, and casting is currently being wrapped up for the other roles.

On the other hand, 'SungKyunKwan Scandal' will begin airing on KBS during the second half of the year and will begin filming in late May.

The entrance of idols in the drama scene is not new and idol group members can be found acting in almost all of the dramas currently airing. Even a new word 'Actingdol' (Acting+Idol) has been created to label this group of idol singers.

However, viewers have conflicting opinions on these new 'Actingdols'.

Some say that they feel uncomfortable watching idols receive parts in dramas due to nothing but their 'star quality' although their acting skills have not been properly inspected. Others say that netizens place harsher standards on idols due to the prejudices and stereotypes that already exist.

Recently, TVXQ's Micky Yoochun became a 'hot potato' online when he was set to play the leading role on 'SungKyunKwan Scandal'. It was neck and neck between those who worried that, "Without any acting experience, how will Micky Yoochun be able to properly act out his role?" and those who said, "It isn't right to criticize him even before he has begun."
The idol label and the fans' distrust and expectations become a burden and homework for idols who pursue the field of acting. But the only people who can complete this homework are the idols themselves.

Some have pointed out that idols must prepare well so that they can confidently stand shoulder to shoulder with the professionals instead of rushing into things and they must hold responsibility for the drama they appear in.

Also, people should not just view these idols in a negative and critical light but open up to them. One wonders why people can't take an 'open approach' to the situation, in which the faults are pointed out but the potential is complimented.
